Good Fare: JFK-Houston, $73 OW on JetBlue
JetBlue may not actually have any genuine Snakes on a Plane sales, but they are running an oil barrel sale (or Blue Barrel Fares, as they call it). The price of their fares between Houston's hobby airport and JFK--the service actually launches next month--are tied to the price of oil. If nothing else, it's certainly a good reason to wish for peace in the Middle East.
It sounds silly, but it's not the first time the price of transportation has been tied to something arbitrary. Isn't there a rule that the price of a subway fare in New York should be the same as a slice of pizza and a soda?
