Spotting Sheep--To the Extreme!

Where: Australia
August 16, 2006 at 9:00 AM | by | Comments (0)

Some people travel the world over spotting trains. They could make themselves more useful at the moment down in Australia, spotting ugly sheep.

There's no reward for finding a particularly ugly sheep and turning him into authorities, but you can feel you're doing something to help South Australia's Xtreme Sheep campaign. The theory behind this is interesting: Scientists reckon that ugly sheep are the key for gene research into improving wool quality.

We already knew that Australia was obsessed with Big Things--and the Xtreme Sheep campaign could do worse than to start by putting Western Australia's Giant Ram on its list--but now things have really turned ugly.
