Antwerp cuisine involves a myriad of choices.  Sure, as far as Belgian food goes, you can go frites all day long, but one popular eclectic cafe is Mata Mata & Pili Pili.

Just off Grote Markt, this semi-swank diner serves Congolese chicken and Nigerian beef--yup, it is a African restaurant.  If you aren't down with sampling the African dishes you can kick back and down a bevy of exotic cocktails until you convince someone in your group to hit a more traditional cafe.

Antwerp

Antwerp is one of Belgium's best cities to go shopping, to dine in a classy restaurant, to visit historical buildings or museums and to spend one or more nights in a hotel in Antwerpen. Two years ago, I combined a visit to this marvellous and sparkling city with a stay in one of those many, ever charming hotels in Antwerpen, more a budget hotel than a luxury hotel. I couldn't believe it at first, but a friend of mine once stayed in more than a dozen Antwerp hotels and said they were all worthwile. Antwerp, with the A of amazing!
