Jamie Foxx Blows Stuff Up in Arizona

Hollywood came to Mesa, Arizona and started demanding Fiji bottled water, mint-vanilla Frappucinos, and closures to the state highway system. The movie "The Kingdom," set so-far-generically in "the Middle East," has been shooting mainly at ASU Polytech but will move onto the highway for the climactic explosion-y scenes. For the next three weekends a stretch of the 202 will be shut down as as Peter Berg directs famous people like Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner to jump around and shoot guns and grimace in the name of art.
Some locals love the perceived boon to the economy, while others are upset that the state will not be receving any reimbursement for the highway takeover, just repairs to any damage that might be caused. Jason Bateman's part of the cast, so you'd think the entire state would welcome the movie with open arms. If any locals have any star sightings to report, email our tipline and shares tales of misplaced entitlement!
