Sexy Town in Sexy Uproar Over Sex Museum

A sex museum shaped like a gigantic while whale penis is guaranteed to offend most everywhere else, but it's a little surprising that the Brazilians are up in arms about it. And yet, indeed they are over in Rio, where objections are cropping up to the recently submitted design of 25-year-old architect Igor de Vetyemy for a sex museum in the Brazilian city. De Vetyemy has the support of Rio's mayor, but not of the governor, who is evangelical, conservative and hopes to cut Rio's ties to sex tourism.

It's not just the shape that's causing problems; inside, there is meant to be a giant replica of a uterus, "sex capsules" (whatever those are), a swingers' club, and did we mention that it's shaped like a whale penis? Oh, and it's going to be called the Cidade de Sexo, or City of Sex.

If Rio doesn't want it, we think it would look great in New York, right on Columbus Circle where the Time Warner Center is now. Who wouldn't visit Whole Foods inside the City of Sex?
