The Way We Wore

The Way We Wore is the kind of place that, once you discover it, you can't believe you ever lived without it. Such is the power of its vintage collection, an endless display of sartorial bounty that's orgasm-inducing for a fashionista (Men: Think free playoff tickets). Mandy Moore, who's always on some best-dressed list or another, calls this boutiqe her favorite store in L.A., and it's certainly one of the most friendly.
There aren't many other places in town that sell $5,000 Fendi pieces and have a smiling, helpful sales staff. Not all items are that expensive, though--there's plenty in the $100 range. Best of all, the tags all list the decade from whence the dresses came, making it easier for the historically challenged to find a dress for a '50s-themed cocktail party.
