Movie Set Travel: You, Me and Dupree
Sometimes you need a break from summer blockbusters to take in a cheeseball romantic, fart-joke comedy. In totally unrelated news, You, Me, and Dupree opens today. (Kidding! It's rife with flatulence, not to worry) Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon star as newlyweds with a friend that won't quit. Owen Wilson stars as the lewd friend.
As scenes in the film were shot in Honolulu, we thought we'd offer you all some fun things to do around town in order to escape your own clingy friends:
Where To Stay:
Halekulani Hotel
One of the most gorgeous resorts on the island, the Halekulani features sweeping views of both the Pacific and Diamond Head. The mosaic pool is done up in over 1.2 million pieces of imported South African glass tiles, and you can slip away to the on premises resort. A resort within a resort, just like a play within a play--how Shakespearean!
Where To Eat:
Chef Mavro
Just 5 mins from Waikiki, Chef Mavro is an award-winning haunt featuring regional Hawaiian cuisine. With a menu that changes quarterly, you'll be able to sample the best of locally-grown food. The prix fixe menu won't break the bank, either.
Where To Relax:
Hawaiian Rainforest Spa
The name says it all: You'll be scrubbed with island lava and drenched in a waterfall afterwards. Hmm---it's better than being scrubbed with a waterfall and drenched with lava, we suppose. They also carry a full line of locally-inspired beauty products.
