We all know it's tough to keep fit on the road, cramming into crappy hotel gyms, or fighting off other guests for the lone treadmill. Hey, even Paul Newman himself deals with it. In an interview this weekend with The Philippine Daily Inquirer he mentioned his secret to staying in shape while traveling:
Since I travel so much, my form of exercise is running up and down stairs. I very rarely stay in a hotel that has less than six stories and I rate hotels by the stairwells (laughter). The stairwell at the Four Seasons Hotel in Budapest is as fine as a stairwell should be (laughter). Incidentally, Joanne has always said that if you can't find Paul, look in the stairwell (laughter).
This is an 81-year-old man we're talking about here. Next time you are sitting on your hotel bed, scarfing down room service instead of working out, just think of Cool Hand Luke to feel extra guilty.
