Dance Epidemic

The radio can be a godsend during travel. An iPod may save you from hours of ceaseless boredom on the flight over, but connecting it to the rental car via cassette or using other options gets to be a chore. Besides, a radio station gives the visitor some insight into a place; hot topics, some local color, even the traffic patterns.

San Francisco's KNGY has a special place in our hearts. It's...evocative of San Francisco, that's for sure. KNGY is San Francisco's dance music station, but it goes well beyond such a narrow purview; there's Erasure, Kelly Clarkson remixes, and it was the first radio station we've ever listened to that played the song from the techno-dancing-hamburger Wendy's commercials. It's highly recommended the next time you pass through the city. Just make sure the bass in your rental car is turned up all the way.
