Movie Set Travel: Just My Luck

This week's big screen pick features America's favorite falling star, Lindsay Lohan, in Just My Luck. We love how she wants to be taken seriously as an actress, evidenced by her recent shmoozing with Meryl Streep. Step two is her role in this movie about a rich Manhattanite who has her "fortunes swapped, forcing her to learn what's really important in her life". Sounds suspiciously like Trading Places to us.

Scenes in the movie were shot in New York's Grand Central Station, and so we have some cool things to do nearby that will leave you with your luck intact-we hope.

Where To Stay:
Library Hotel
Right around the corner from Grand Central, check into this hotel, built for the bookish types. Each of the 10 floors honors one of the ten categories of the Dewey Decimal System, and it offers over 6,000 volumes to borrow for some light reading. The 7th Floor, where they keep the Fashion Design books, just might be La Lohan's speed.

Where To Snack:
Bryant Park Grill
Skip over to w.40th St, right behind the mammoth NYPL, and hit up Bryant Park grill on a sunny day. Spend the afternoon on their outdoor patio and eat the "harmless" food while you watch the rest of the 9-5ers balance sandwiches on their laps on rickety chairs in the park.  Make sure to bring your oversized sunglasses, you don't want the razzi getting any nasty photos. If you're Lindsay, you'd just pretend to eat here, like on SNL.

Where To Spend:
Fifth Avenue
You'll swear your foul luck has changed once you head up Fifth Ave to check out Bulgari, Cartier, Saks and Van Cleef. Just like Lohan, you can pop in and pick up something for your premiere tonight, in a size 0. Be sure to tell the cute doormen at Harry Winston hello.
