Snow Job

Where: Greenland
March 3, 2006 at 11:05 AM | by AVB | 0 Comments

Right now, wherever he is, Jean-Georges Vongerichten must be supremely disappointed; AA Gill returned from his trip to Greenland alive.

Gill came to fame as a restaurant reviewer on the warpath in Britain--Gordon Ramsay refused to serve him when he recognized him in one of his restaurants after a bad review--before turning his gimlet eye to JGV's restaurant 66 in Vanity Fair. He called their foie gras dumplings "fishy, liver-filled condoms". Ouch.

Apparently he's done slagging restaurants and has now moved on to whole races of people. We kid. He's written an sharp assessment of the most inhospitable flyover country in the world. Covering four times zones, Greenland is the world's biggest island, but only with a population of 56,000. At least some of the houses these days are made from wood and glass, instead of the mud huts that used to be in fashion.

Now, if blogads would send some bloggers there...that's a press trip we'd support.
