Oscar-winning 'Tsotsi' Director Gavin Hood, star Presley Chweneyagae and other cast and crew members paraded through Alexandra township (one of the country's most notorious slums) near Johannesburg in a roofless bus, and were greeted by thousands of cheering throngs. The film won a best-foreign language film award for its tale of a township gangster.  It has earned more than $570,000 in South Africa alone--a precendent unmet by other area themed movies.
