Voodoo Head Stopped at Border

A woman has been arrested for bringing a human head from Haiti into Ft. Lauderdale in her suitcase. According to a customs spokeswoman, the package contained a skull as well as "teeth, hair and bits of skin and lots of dirt," Gonzalez said. The head, to be used as part of voodoo ceremonies, was to help ward off evil, but the woman faces now charges of "smuggling a human head into the U.S. without proper documentation, failure to declare the head, and transporting hazardous material in air commerce."
