All I Want for Christmas Is a Stuffed Polar Bear

Museum exhibition curators are allowed to have slightly out-there ideas. But would you have thought of this one? Find every single taxidermist-stuffed polar bear in existence in your country, photograph them exactly where you find them, and create an exhibition out of the results?
That's exactly what Mark Wilson and Bryndis Snaebjornsdottir did. They managed to track down over 30 stuffed bears across Britain, often in dusty basements, and their photographs now form the Great White Bear exhibition at the Horniman Museum in South London, running until March 25, 2007. As well as the photos, you can come right up close with a real snarling stuffed bear, those guys that look so cute in distant photos but downright menacing in person. Grrrr.
