Condom Tourism Craze Continues in Thailand
Say you're holidaying in northern Thailand and another tourist tells you there's a museum called Cabbages and Condoms nearby. Believe them? This time they'd actually be telling you the truth. It's all part of a non-profit community group trying to help the people near Chiang Rai make the best out of their lives: creating an industry for the cabbages they grow, and encouraging the use of condoms to prevent the spread of HIV.
So, believe it or not, you can head out to both a restaurant and museum named Cabbages and Condoms, where you'll find tasty Thai food plus condom memorabilia, and you can see displays about opium addiction, too. Cheerful stuff. Condoms: sexy, cabbage: notsomuch. At least it's named nicely.
