Lonely Planet Launches Blog

November 27, 2006 at 10:23 AM | by | Comments (0)

Lonely Planet has finally poked its way into the blog world. In the good old days, people like us had to walk to Barnes and Noble and spend upwards of $15 to follow the ramblings of LP authors. Now they're but a click away.

Not surprisingly, some of the first dispatches are from or about Sudan, Iraqi Kurdistan and Botswana. And some poster is completely incensed that China was named an "up-and-coming destination" for 2007 by a UK-based travel booking site. We're kind of amused too, but isnt it so much funnier when Lonely Planet gets pissed? It makes you want to see what it would take to send them through the roof--perhaps email them the most ordinary tips you can imagine, and see if it crashes their email or their brains or both.

It's worth staying tuned because their network of writers and friends all over the world is impressive. In time, you might get beer stories from further away than you ever thought possible.
