Television Travel: Lost Surfin' Safari

Last night's season premier of Lost has us thinking about the north shore of Oahu, where the waves start crashing in earnest right about now. All the beaches in Hawaii are public, so the only turf wars happen out on the waves. If you're aching to chase them, here are some suggestions:
· Lodging: If you've got a budget more like a Lost cast member's, and like being pampered, consider the big, lush Turtle Bay Resort, where you can snag a standard room for as little as $199 or a suite well into the thousands.
If you're heading out with friends, try and split Santa's By the Sea at $200/night. Did we mention it's right on the Pipeline?
· Surfing Lessons: If you're not quite up to Laird Hamilton's level, get a setup from Surf N Sea in Haleiwa. They've got you covered with anything from surf lessons to rentals to sex wax (for your board, not your night on the town--unless you're Kate and Sawyer).
If you're more into spectator sports than surfing yourself, remember the Pipeline Masters takes place every December, and your DVR can always keep its eye on the show while you're away.
