The first time I used a cell phone was in Florence, Italy, about eight years ago. I needed to get hold of someone at our hotel but couldn't find a public phone nearby.
All of a sudden, all of the priests began to stream out the Duomo doors, and they were all on cell phones (talking to God, perhaps?!?). I thought, what the heck. I went up to one of them and kindly asked if I could borrow his phone. With a smile, he handed it to me, no questions asked.
So there you have it. Priests not only carry cell phones, but also allow tourists to use them.
