Airline Report: A Champagne Supernova in the Sky

October 26, 2006 at 11:30 AM | 0 Comments

After all the hoopla surrounding its launch, Russian cockblockers--aviation officials, whatever--prevented Oasis Hong Kong Airlines from taking to the skies for its inaugural flight bound for London yesterday. OHK made headlines when it announced super-low fares on aircraft that actually seem flyable to the economy traveler: humane legroom, seatback entertainment, and included hot meal service.

Oasis execs must have been more embarassed than even we were for them, but thankfully, they made it into the air today and are floating around somewhere as we type. A touchdown at London's Gatwick Airport is expected at around 1 p.m. EST today, with the return flight set to take off about two hours later, provided no one else is interested in getting in its way, that is. Stay tuned as we scour the internets for the first reviews of the Oasis experience.
