Southwest Airlines Has a Blog But Keeps Its Day Job

October 24, 2006 at 3:30 PM | by | Comments (0)

We aren't sure how we missed Southwest's very own blog, titled Nuts About Southwest. (Indeed, that pun is intended.)

It's not quite an entertaining read per se but if you're curious to see what the Southwest executives, pilots, and stewards have been up to then you should find all you need to know here.

The blog, which started last April, has posts written by actual Southwest employees (from mechanics to the company president) in that cheery Southwest spirit and is updated at least once a day. There's news about the airplanes themselves, airports and fun guessing games like "Guess what this is a picture of?" involving things found on Southwest aircrafts. (Answer: baby-changing table.) Readers are also encouraged to post comments and give feedback on the posts.

But what really made us laugh was this bit from the blog's User Guide.

One final disclaimer -- the Southwest Blog is not the forum to address personal Customer Service issues. All of us have "day jobs," and we simply don't have the resources through this blog to resolve individual concerns.

Of course, they then list all the proper Southwest customer service contacts to voice your complaints. But when will they put Santa and his close personal friend David Neeleman on their blogroll?
