Milwaukee TSA Thief Arrested

October 20, 2006 at 9:41 AM | by | Comments (0)

Those Ziploc baggies will protect you from terrorism but not, apparently, from theft. An airport TSA employee at MKE has been arrested for snatching money from passengers' carry-on luggage.

The employee was caught red-handed with $235, though there's no telling how much more (if any) money she's swiped in the past. A fellow screener spied her hiding bills behind a magazine rack. She has been put on administrative leave and is out of jail on $200 bail. She has reportedly been having money problems for some time.

We say, keep your cash on you at all times. If you can't, it doesn't hurt to do a wallet inventory once in a while so you can double-check later. And to think, we've been putting our valuables in those afforementioned magical baggies--time for a new game plan.
