Beantown Tattoo Convention

Yes, we know. It's hard to believe that Boston hosts a tattoo convention, one would think Vegas would be more attendees' speed, but it's on in Beantown this weekend: The Boston Tattoo Convention 2005, held at the Boston Center for the Arts today through Sunday.

If you can get there, it looks like a pretty interesting lineup. They are having tons of great skin artists there, a 'tattoo of the day' contest each day, a 'lizardman freakshow' (we can only imagine what he looks like) and artist interviews and live broadcasts. Don't worry, the whole thing's met Boston Health Dept. standards year after year, and with vendors like New England Surgical Center, it's not for amateurs.

Tickets are available at the door only, and apparently last year the place was filled to capacity so get there early. And a hint: don't do the Manny Ramirez thing. For some reason we bet someone's already thought of it....
