Hotel Pillow Loot Improves

September 12, 2005 at 9:53 AM | by | Comment (1)

If you're not big into age-old, whitening chocolate that's been stuck in a maid's closet for ages, we don't blame you. Most standard hotel turndown service leaves you with a rock hard piece of chocolate that seems to collect on the nightstand for your stay. Things are about to improve greatly.

The Times reports that hotel chains are catching on that "predictable" chocolate has "lost its cachet" and are moving on to better offerings.

At the Amanwella Resort in Sri Lanka, guests are left with seashells, cinnamon bark and microseed bracelets made by local families. The Lajitas Resort in West Texas leaves a bag of fresh herbs on pillows each night. Or they've upped the ante on the sweet offerings, the W Hotel Sidney leaves Jujubees.

Or it's not on the bed at all....the W San Fran leaves mini GoSMILE teeth-whitening ampoules and toothpastes on vanities and Shutters on the Beach puts a "Me Time" list on the mirror to remind you of all the great stuff you can do.

A hell of a lot better than stale mints we say....if you've been the recipient of an interesting turndown gift, drop us a line!

Nice news!

Well, I can only hope I'll find some of these improvements at the Niagara Falls Canada hotels as I am booked for the next month. Do you have any information updates on this part of the planet? So far the hotel package looks nice.
