Upstate NY's Gondolas

August 18, 2005 at 10:23 AM | by | Comments (0)

If you thought Venice was your only option for a gondola ride, it turns out you don't even have to go that far. A new gondola operation has opened on the upstate NY Seneca-Cayuga Canal, Gondola Renaissance.

Sure, it might have a little less charm then Venice's winding canals, but the bucolic landscape and historic vineyard views will easily take the place of noisy tourists and water rats. Gondala Renaissance offers 75 to 90-minute tours for $85. They can carry up to five people and you are encouraged to bring your own picnic. They will even provide ice, a bucket and glasses and play music if you want.

Reservations are a must. (No website--call 315-406-3720) Rides are through Sept. right now.
