Wonder where the Slinky came from? Or who invented the first hair dryer? Check out the new United States Patent and Trademark Office Museum. The museum, opened last month, currently has an interactive exhibit about how inventors have made daily life more efficient and enjoyable. You'll find everything from the first pair of Chucks (1908) to the motherboard of the first Apple computer. Trademarks, and the stories behind them, are displayed throughout on tons of flat-screen TV's.

The musem's open every weekday from 9-5 and admission is free.
