Precious Moments Chapel

Whether or not you think the Precious Moments Park and Chapel is worth a road trip depends on your tolerance for the kitschy and the maudlin. We got a chill just hearing about the "giant Precious Moments characters [that] come to life in the form of spongy character suits worn by sweaty park employees," as the Houston Chronicle reports. The pièce de résistance is the chapel and its main sanctuary, covered with murals of Precious Moments children acting out parts of the Bible (we're guessing more New Testament than Old). The floor-to-ceiling Hallelujah Square depicts primarily children 'whose lives ended too soon, but whose lives continue to inspire.'"
