Forget the old Virginia Beach of yesterday (day-glo bikinis, drunken spring break revelers, rundown motels) and meet the beach born anew.

The Washington Post reports that Virginia Beach has experienced an upgrade thanks to its concerned residents and now boasts a revitalized boardwalk and broad expansions to the beach itself--that are raked and shifted daily.

They are also pushing a new name "VaBeach"--the next Sobe we wonder?
