New Google Transit Trip Planner

Just stumbled upon what appears to be a brand new Google maps service called Google Transit Trip Planner.  

Google Transit let's you plan out a public transportation route to your travel destinations, and weigh the economic pros and cons of driving vs. public transit.

Cool...until you realize the beta version just covers Portland Oregon, for now.

We plotted our way from PDX to the Portland Rose Gardens, which Google said would take ust 59 minutes in transit and 5 minutes walking.  We also would save $3.35 by using public transportation.

Portland Oregon seems like an appropriate enough place to do no evil.
