Mini Israel Park

December 20, 2005 at 6:55 PM | by | Comments (0)

Mini Israel Park displays hundreds of models that are exact copies of sites, buildings, and landscapes from around the country.

The mini buildings are surrounded by mini vegetation and mini Israleis, and yes, even mini strife:

The doll-like Muslims atop the Temple Mount, the holiest site in the world for Jews, were shielded to stop visitors from destroying them. Some Jewish settlers have found it amusing to throw rocks at the Muslim figures, which broke the entire exhibit.

Their excuse was, `They throw rocks at us, I'm going to throw rocks at them', said Yoni Shapira, the co-founder of Mini Israel. We had to find a way to stop that kind of vandalism, which I think is fanaticism.

The Park is located in Latrun, just off the main highway from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and only a few minutes from Ben Gurion Airport.
