Catch a Wave Inside

What's better than hitting the beach for a swim when you're in the seaside town of Miyazaki, south-west Japan? Of course, it's paying a stack of yen to swim at the massive indoor beach at Ocean Dome, just a few hundred feet from the real sea.
Of course, this is not just any indoor swim park. It's the world's largest indoor water park, with the main pool measuring 300 meters (that's 6 times longer than an Olympic-size pool) and a hundred meters across. The water is heated and salt-free, and there are also three water slides, the "Drift Woods" floating pool and the big waves: they hold a surf show in the wave pool several times a day. Who needs the ocean when we can just build it?
