As the world waited with bated breath this weekend as to whether our two favorite divorcées, Angelina and Brad (and their 2.5 kids), would tie the knot at George "Teri Hatcher better lose my number" Clooney's manse on Lake Como, we think they've pulled the old bait and switch. They probably got into town, freaked at the number of paparazzi and holed up somewhere while their publicists figured out what to do next. Here's some advice for the next time through town.

Where They Should Stay:
Hotel Terminus. Avoid Clooney's like the plague and curl up instead at the lake's most elegant digs. The Terminus boasts panoramic views, marbled lobbies, an elegant maze hedge garden and perfectly restored 19th architecture. They can book the "Tower Room" and enjoy their own spiral staircase and private balcony, as well as soundproof windows and doors--remember that Kenyan lodge? It should keep Us Weekly out, too.

What To Check Out:
Basilica San Fedele (no website). While waiting for the buzz to die down, Brangelina should swing by this gorgeous church, one of the oldest in the area, and called a classic example of the Masters of Como. Hang out in the Piazza San Fedele and buy the kids a gelato.

Where To Hide Away:
Isola Comacina. The two can escape the cameras while waiting for their nuptuals on Lake Como's only island. It they can hang out a while (OK, a few months) the island's known for its St. John's Day celebration, where a costumed procession and fireworks follow a mass celebrated in the ruins of the basilica. Aaaaah...so romantic. It's enough to make a lady carry a vial of her husband's blood around her neck all over again.
