Jaunted's Kiddie Traveler Series: What Are The In-Flight Comfort and Entertainment Options?
No wonder that kid won't stop crying in the front of the plane. The in-flight comfort items offered to children are non-existent. Not one airline we spoke to offered anything for children in this category. Turns out airlines won't give you free blankies for just being a shorty.
But kids can take comfort in the on-board entertainment. Since most airlines offer a rotating kiddie film on the lineup, we focused on the TV and radio offerings.
· American: None.
· Continental: It has BabyFirstTV, a network just for infants and toddlers; Cartoon Network; Disney; Disney XD; and Boomerang on DirectTV. For audio options, there's the Kids Korner channel, which has songs, stories and jokes. Video games are also available.
· Delta: Kids can watch Nickelodeon/Nick at Night and Animal Planet. Since Hannah Montana is an option, be thankful for the earphones. Among the MP3 offerings your little guy will rock out to Sesame Street's "Platinum Favorites." More advanced kiddos will take part in the interactive trivia games.
· JetBlue: Kids can watch Animal Planet, TV Land, Discovery, and Nickelodeon/Nick at Night. On the radio dial, there's Radio Disney and XM Kids.
· Southwest: None.
