We love a good budget bus sale, especially when the starting price is $0.01. Sadly this isn't one of those practically-free blowouts, but Megabus has cut rates on their international routes to Canada and routes in Canada down to $10.
Want to head north when the weather warms up? Here's the deal: Megabus has 10,000 seats for $10 on each of its routes between Toronto and Montreal, and between Toronto and Niagara Falls, Ontario and Buffalo, NY. The dates for the discounted seats are between April 20 and June 23—perfect for a little weekend trip to keep things interesting before summer vacation hits.

Washington: Washington's Cherry Blossoms Will Be Blooming from March 26 to April 10

The nation’s capital is busy as always, dealing with budgets, politics, and assorted crises. However, at the end of the month, residents, visitors, and even politicians will take some time to stop and smell the roses—or at least the cherry blossoms.
Scientists and horticulturists working for Uncle Sam have tallied the numbers and computed the statistics, and they think they know when the pink and white cherry blossoms are ready to bloom this season in Washington, DC. The big day is supposedly March 29, as this is when the blooms will start looking their best. The time period will continue through April 3, but we all know that Mother Nature can play tricks—so plan accordingly.

Spargel: It's What's for Dinner in Germany. But What is It?

There's a food revolution happening right now in Germany, and although it is almost over with the beginning of summer, the good news is that it returns every year with the ripening of German asparagus, called Spargel. This revolution sees Germans ditch the sausage and heavier entrees for a month of asparagus-focused meals, most popularly serving the white asparagus with hollandaise sauce and roasted potatoes.
Spargelzeit (Spargel time) is a return to fresh vegetables and pastoral charm, which remains true since the great bulk of Germany's asparagus supply comes right from the local farmers.
So what's the difference between white and green asparagus, and why all the fuss? Well, although it's true that the US is used to wimpy green stalks, the white stuff is like super-powered asparagus. Grown under dirt to stop it from photosynthesizing, white asparagus is stronger when raw and far more tender when cooked. It's like the difference between a sirloin steak and filet mignon. Plus, it holds up well on its own as an entree.

Jetblue Throws an Airfare Sample Sale with Flights from $29

When we went looking for Jetblue's "Cheeps" deals on Twitter this morning, we didn't see any! Where were the sale airfares that they promise to deliver every Tuesday then? Well, it turns out that they're having another big airfare "sample sale," with almost all routes on sale for the next few months, but only on sale for today and tomorrow.
They've done a sample sale before, but this time it's different—they're also displaying how many Trueblue points you can redeem for the flights, and those are discounted too. All one-way flights are between $29-$149 or, if you choose to redeem your points, are between 5,000 and 11,100.
The sale page itself is nicely laid out, so that our eyes are darting between the JFK-St. Maarten flights for $129 each way and the JFK-Chicago flights for $69 each way. Decisions, decisions! Just like a real sample sale, both might be too good to pass up.
Related Stories:
· 2-Day Sample Sale [Jetblue]
· All About the Revamped TrueBlue Program [Jaunted]
· Airfare Sales [Jaunted]
