Of course they already have cheap flights to here, there, and everywhere in and around Canada, but now they're prepping to take on New York-LaGuardia.
Live, in-flight television will be yours to enjoy on seven new nonstop flights between NYC-LaGuardia and Toronto beginning June 4. A couple weeks later they’ll be boosting the flight frequency up to eight flights, so they definitely mean business when it comes to serving the flying public between New York City and Toronto. They’re heading to the land of cheesesteaks and rowdy sports fans, as Virgin America is planning nonstop flights to Philadelphia from both San Francisco and Los Angeles. Some of these will start doing their thing as early as April, so if you’re looking for a delayed Spring Break—either on the west coast or east coast—give this new route a little consideration.
· Southwest Airlines:
They’re continuing to move in all their belongings at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, but Southwest Airlines is already planning another new option to and from the airport. They’ve decided to a do a nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Atlanta beginning on June 10. This is in addition to the options that are already offered up by their best friends—and soon to be family—over at AirTran. The initial route boost from Southwest in Atlanta begins next month and continues through March, so we expect plenty of more comings and goings from ATL as 2012 chugs along.

Porter Airlines, Frontier and Delta Send Planes Here and There This Week

The airline—and their cute raccoon mascot—is starting up service between Toronto and Burlington, Vermont. The seasonal service is intended for skiers looking to hit the slopes, and this is the fifth different US city that the airline now visits. Things will run through April 8 before the planes head elsewhere for the summer. Initial fares look to hover around $200 or so, which isn’t too bad if you’re in need of a quick ski—or quick city—jaunt.
· AirBerlin:
No need to stopover if you’re trying to get to Berlin from the Los Angeles area, as there’s a new nonstop route coming soon thanks to the folks—and airplanes—over at AirBerlin. Beginning next May the carrier will do a nonstop flight between California and Germany, and the prices don’t really seem too bad. We did a quick search here and there, and we found a couple options in like the $900 range. Sure it’s not the best airfare deal ever, but it certainly good enough to get you to Europe instead of spending the summer at home.
