Of course they already have cheap flights to here, there, and everywhere in and around Canada, but now they're prepping to take on New York-LaGuardia. <P>Live, in-flight television will be yours to enjoy on seven new nonstop flights between <b>NYC-LaGuardia and Toronto</b> beginning June 4. A couple weeks later they&#146;ll be boosting the flight frequency up to eight flights, so they definitely mean business when it comes to serving the flying public between New York City and Toronto. Nope. Instead certain preparations must be made to accommodate an airliner of the A380's size and heft. To effectively manage each plane's 500+ passenger load, more jetways are needed, plus support vehicles to reach the upper deck. In some cases, airport runway indicator lights may need to be moved and the tarmac reinforced. <P>In other words, A380s can't just fly anywhere and, although the massive planes have been in the air since <b><a href="http://www.jaunted.com/tag/singapore%20airlines">Singapore Airlines</a></b> took delivery of the very first in 2007, not all that many airports around the world are treated to them. Japan Airlines&#151;<a href="http://www.jaunted.com/story/2011/11/10/93959/844/travel/JAL%3A+%27We%27re+Getting+787s+Too%2C+You+Know%27">they&#146;re getting the plane too</a>&#151;just announced where the plane is headed, and it sounds like it&#146;s going to <b>Boston, Moscow, and Beijing</b>. The super long-haul routes will depart from Tokyo-Narita, and the shorter flight over to China will depart from Tokyo-Haneda. For those in the nifty fifty looking to test out the plane, the flights to and from Beantown are scheduled to start doing their thing on April 22 of 2012. <p>&#183; <b><a href="http://www.jaunted.com/tag/turkish%20airlines">Turkish Airlines</a></b>:<br>They might not need <a href="http://www.jaunted.com/story/2011/2/17/85027/7151/travel/Kobe+Bryant+Ignores+the+Kardashians+in+the+Case+of+Turkish+Airlines">help from Kobe anymore</a>&#151;especially since he hasn&#146;t been playing too much NBA basketball lately&#151;as Turkish Airlines is busy expanding to here and over to there. Their latest new route plans to connect their home in<b> Istanbul with Los Angeles with an additional route</b>&#151;guess things are going well. Virgin Atlantic is adding its <b>very first Canadian destination</b>, as the airline is going to link up <b>London-Heathrow with Vancouver</b> beginning on May 24 of next year. <P>The idea is to utilize some of their Airbus A340s four times per week with the capacity to send around 240 passengers back and forth. Right now the plan is to just keep the option around until like the middle of October, as the airline is trying to get as many people as possible into the United Kingdom for next year&#146;s Olympics. No, it wasn't <b><a href="http://www.jaunted.com/tag/alaska%20airlines">Alaska Airlines</a></b> even though they are trying; it was <b><a href="http://www.jaunted.com/tag/united">United</a></b>, and they flew their eco-friendly 737-800 from <b><a href="http://www.jaunted.com/tag/continental">Continental's</a></b>'s former home base, Houston, to the United home base of Chicago. <P>For the #avgeeks: The biofuel is algae-based and includes 60 percent petroleum fuel and 40 percent biofuel produced by a company named Solazyme. <p>The eco-consciousness isn't limited to what goes in the tank, either. United flight attendants now push lighter serving carts and pilots traded in their 38-pound flight bags for more weight-conscious <b><a href="http://www.jaunted.com/tag/ipad">iPads</a></b> (already loaded with their in-flight navigation charts and aircraft manuals).
