There's been a truly amazing video hitting the rounds of #avgeeks on the internet this week and we couldn't resist sharing it as well.

The above video is a little more than 9 minutes of aircraft landing and taking off from Germany's Düsseldorf Airport during a storm, which brought with it some serious wind conditions. The crosswind landings are successfully executed by pilots from a range of airlines, excepting Condor, who had to make a second try at it.

Only uploaded a few days ago, the video from Cargospotter has already garnered over 67,000 views on YouTube, and for good reason; the HD quality and freedom from an annoying soundtrack are awesome. And, while we've never experienced landing in such severe crosswinds as this (and hope we never do), we have been to DUS and can say that, ordinarily, it's not a dangerous airport at all. After a challenging year for some of the founding members of the Oneworld alliance, 2012 will surely be brighter. In 2011, the alliance saw American Airlines file for bankruptcy and Qantas' chief grounding the entire network to challenge labor disputes, plus Iberia closing out the year with rounds of employee strikes.

There were some shining stars, however, with the finalization of International Airline Group (the conglomerate that combines British Airways and Iberia), Cathay Pacific offering overhauled cabins and in-flight amenities, and Japan Airlines emerging from bankruptcy stronger and more stable.

As we get going with 2012, we can't help but notice the huge changes happening amongst these airline buddies. Oneworld is the world's smallest of the major airline alliances, yet consistently hits the high marks in passenger ratings. With the addition of 3 new carriers, Oneworld will gain a fighting chance to excel in years to come. As if you needed any more reasons to lust over airline lounges, we must say that some of the best photos and videos come from them. Proving this yet again is YouTube user Ross Johnson, aka Tumbles94, who emailed us to say that he's again used his perch in one of the Lufthansa lounges at Frankfurt International to capture mesmerizing tilt-shift, time-lapsed videos.

For this third installment—see the first two here and here—Ross spends a good long time shooting the 747s and smaller jets that scuttle around the tarmac, plus the drones of the support vehicles.

Encore! Encore! It's time-lapse and tilt-shift at an airport! Last week we featured a great but short video shot from one of the lounges at Frankfurt Airport.

This week, the video's creator Ross Johnson, aka Tumbles94 on YouTube, returns with a longer version—about 40 minutes of shooting condensed via time-lapse into a hypnotic 1:20. Overall it's a bit like the full length novel to the earlier video's Cliffs Notes, but when is that a bad thing?

The star of this video, in our humble opinion, may just be those cranes going about their work with slow purpose, meanwhile the support vehicles hyperactively zip about like they've each downed a 5-Hour Energy drink.

Kim Kardashian represents womankind at last year's Oktoberfest. Vom.

Okay people. Oktoberfest is officially in full swing. The brew has been tapped and the pretzels baked and the hotels...well, filled. The luxury hotel collection Rocco Forte Hotels dropped some advice into our inbox regarding tips for ladies visiting Oktoberfest, and as seasoned female revelers at Munich's massive party, we've got some priceless tidbits of our own to add:

· Drink: The only authentic drink at the Oktoberfest, even for women, is beer. But caution is advised—the typical Munich festival beer, specially brewed for Oktoberfest has a higher alcohol percentage than average. When drinking with others it is polite to clink your glasses, while looking the person in the eyes, and say “Prost”.

Jaunted Says: Whoa—not true about beer being the only authentic drink! In fact, we'd argue there are two other beverages it's "authentic" to drink at Oktoberfest, both of which work out well for those who don't particularly enjoy chugging beer: champagne and schnapps. Look beyond the ginormous beer tents to the Weinzelt tent, a smaller tent that specializes in Nymphenburger Sekt—sekt being German champagne. Don't say we didn't warn you. There are now pretzels on Lufthansa planes, and you can thank the spirit of Oktoberfest, the fall festival which officially begins tomorrow, September 17.

Want to see some passengers ripping into those warm, soft in-flight pretzels? Just watch Lufthansa's slick little video above to kick off the fest, although we have to admit that the real attraction of it are the glamor shots of both male and female flight attendants in traditional Bavarian dress, doing such traditional German things as welcoming you with a "Grüß Gott," caressing your Rimowa luggage, and pouring you a big glass stein of Dunkelweizen.

We've long admitted our love of Time-lapse video, but combine time-lapse with Tilt-shift and we're all ears (or eyes, rather).

The video below is a very recent example of the magic that comes with today's photography technology, plus it's just really cute. You want to give the airplanes a treat or something, like they're gerbils instead of multi-million dollar machines. Note that there's tons of Lufthansa featured because it was shot at Frankfurt Airport.
