If you pass by the entrances to the New York flagship stores for brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, GAP, Apple and Victoria's Secret, it's obvious from the lines of tourists that American chain stores hold some serious fascination for foreigners. And although the first three of those have made it overseas successfully, Victoria's Secret has yet to go bonkers internationally...until now.
After thirty-three years of peddling panties and multi-million dollar diamond bras in the States, Victoria's Secret will open its first UK flagship store next year. All 16,500 square feet of the new store—on London's Bond Street, even—will serve as a temple to romance and the lacey underthings that help romance blossom.
What does this mean for travelers? Well, aside from the fact that American expats in the UK will be able to indulge in the PINK sweatpants craze of the US suburbs, it also means that the British are about to get fancier knickers.
