We love Tuesdays. Why, you ask? Because the day brings many travel tips and quips as "Travel Tuesday" on Twitter, and we're going to share our favorite with you. Got an avid travel twitterer we should follow? Let us know.

After we've been flattened with unfavorable exchange rates at travel destinations all summer—ah hem Norway, UK, Switzerland—New York scene DJ Mike Nouveau (@MikeNouveau) delivers some optimism along with excellent news:

Well the dollar is almost at a 3-month high against the Euro, so I guess that means I should buy these leather Paul Harnden pants...

Yes yes yes! The dollar gaining in strength against the Euro is cause for celebration, surely, and shopping should do the trick quite nicely. As you can expect, the ones reaping the most from this are Americans currently traveling in Europe, who may find a few more Euros than expected being spit from ATMs. Tip: now could be the time to book any Europe travel plans that require credit card charges in Euros. Spread the word.

Travel Tweet of the Week: Karaoke Up in the Cabin

This post is being written from the air right now. Why? Because this is the future, obviously. What's even better is that this whole scenario takes a step into even further meta territory when we tell you that not only are we writing this on a plane above the Midwest, but that we're reading tweets about flight attendants while being served a ginger ale from a real flight attendant, herself completely oblivious to this funny little situation.

We're sure that, if we asked our own flight attendant, she'd agree with the following sentiment of Molly McNearney (@mollymcnearney), one of the head writers for Jimmy Kimmel:

Mark Orwoll (@orwoll) is new to Twitter, but as the International Editor of Travel + Leisure magazine, he's adapted quickly and found his stride. He's still new enough to just enjoy Twitter for Twitter's sake, and thus we're enjoying his tweets. They're not peppered with hashtags or self-promoting; instead they're informational and more often than not, quite humorous.

Tweet of the Week: The Dawn of the Zombie Apocalypse

Say the words "zombies" and we're all ears. What're we talking about—hunting them, eating them, joining them, singing them to sleep? We want in on it. Thus, when writer and traveler Kimberly Kaye @Kimberly_Kaye tweeted about zombies very early in the morning today, it solidified a 12-hour (and continuing) obsession with them.

Tweet of the Week: A New York Times Writer Takes on Cross-Country Cycling

There is a man out there right now, biking cross-country not on a motorcycle but on a regular road bike. Yes, we know people do this all the time, but this instance is special. The man is Bruce Weber (@NYTBruceWeber) and as you can probably tell from his Twitter handle, he's a writer at the New York Times.

His usual area of expertise at the NYT is obituaries, as we can see from his online archive, but lately he's been pursuing his passion of cycling (and writing about it) and making the long journey for the second time in his life.

Travel Tweet of the Week: Iceland is for Hipsters

And winner of the newest, most creative Twitter account in recent weeks is: @hipstericeland. Seriously, although HipsterIceland doesn't tweet a whole lot, what she (it sounds like she) does deem worthy of putting out there is pure genius. Imagine the stereological hipster...now apply all those traits to an entire country with an already hilarious Twtter feed (@thisisiceland).

Tweet of the Week: Steve Martin, King of Comedy and King of the Road

To be completely honest, we've been waiting week after week for actor/comedian/musician/writer Steve Martin to tweet something vaguely travel-related on a Tuesday so that we could recommend you follow him. The man has not lost his wry wit, not one bit. And now that he's touring—for banjo-playing—the road-trippy tweets are just rolling in.

You can find him at @SteveMartinToGo on Twitter, and he's already got nearly 1.5 million followers lapping up every word. And, if they're anything like us, laughing aloud at almost every tweet he puts out there. Poor British Columbia.
