Tom Cruise spent a whirlwind weekend in India, taking part in everything from a photo-op at the Taj Mahal to an all-night party in Mumbai, but it's his "fans" who are making headlines overseas.

According to the Hindustan Times, hundreds of the fans who were waiting for Cruise to arrive at the Mumbai Airport weren't fans at all, but rather "junior artists" being paid 150 INR ($3) for the day. One of the "fans" even admitted she never heard of Tom Cruise before arriving at the airport for her paid gig. Last week, a few tourists in Dubai got the surprise of a lifetime when they peered over the observation deck of the world’s tallest building and saw Tom Cruise dangling from only a wire, with no safety nets.

Cruise, who is notorious for doing all of his own stunt work, was shooting a scene for the upcoming movie, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol, in which he chased another man around the outside of the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai.

Tom Cruise stepped back into the shoes (and Russian disguises) of Ethan Hunt this week for the fourth Installment of Mission Impossible.

The movie commenced shooting in Prague on Wednesday, after Tom and the movie's producers spent several days last week scouting locations. During their trip they visited the city’s Vrsovice train station, and several sites in the Old Town of Prague, where Cruise is rumored to be staying. Katie Holmes is the talk of the Sundance Film Festival this year, and not just because she's flying solo in Park City, UT, but also because she has two films in the fest that are getting a lot of buzz. Yesterday, Katie was spotted at the premiere of The Romantics at the Library Centre with co-star Josh Duhamel and his wife Fergie. Kate also took some time yesterday to pose for photos with one of the film's other co-stars, Elijah Wood, who reminisced about filming the movie last year on Long Island. "One lunch break," Elijah said, "instead of going to lunch, we decided to have a party at one of the holding houses. There was a little iPod dock, and we played very loud music and danced. And the girls were amazing."

The Romantics centers on Laura (Holmes), the maid of honor at the wedding of her former college roommate Lila (Anna Paquin ) and the love of her life Tom (Duhamel). The wedding provides the backdrop for a reunion of their friends who had the nickname The Romantics. The Hamptons have always been a hot spot for celeb activity, but this week it's the North Fork region of Long Island that has the big names. Yesterday, Tom Cruise was spotted jogging on Route 25 through Orient and East Marion with his bodyguard, who rode along side him on a bicycle. Tom seemed to be enjoying his run and waved to fans as they drove by. He was probably happy to have a few days off.

Tom's been busy working on the movie Knight and Day with Cameron Diaz in Boston. The production was scheduled to move to Salzburg, Austria today but Austrian filmmakers protested a tax incentive offered to Cruise and company by Salzburg authorities. In response to the backlash, the shoot has been cut down to just 7 days rather than the three weeks they had originally scheduled. Tom and Cameron will also be shooting in Spain and Hawaii over the next few week.

So, what would bring Tom Cruise to eastern Long Island in the middle of November? Most likely, his third anniversary with wife Katie Holmes. Mrs. Cruise is currently filming The Romantics in Southold, NY with co-stars Adam Brody, Elijah Wood, Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel and Malin Akerman. The cast seems to be making themselves at home while filming in Long Island. Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were up all night Friday, but not for a hot Hollywood party, instead they spent the night in a Bridgewater, MA field. The pair were shooting scenes for Wichita, aka "The Untitled Wichita Project", their new movie which has been filming around Boston for a few weeks. In one scene shot Friday night, just off of Curve Street, a 747 "crashed and exploded" in a a large field. Though it looked and sounded like a real crash, no planes (or humans) were actually injured in the shoot. The plane arrived to the field on Friday already in pieces and the explosion was nothing more than a little Hollywood magic.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie focuses on "a lonely woman (Diaz) whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a superspy (Cruise) takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source."
