The much beloved Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has announced they are expanding their operations next year with a new location on the outskirts of Washington, DC, in Ashburn, VA.

The Alamo Drafthouse isn't your run-of-the-mill movie theater. They serve up gourmet food and drinks every night (there is a bar in every lobby) and host fun pop culture-themed events, like the Dazed and Confused Feast taking place tonight at their Houston location.

The Metropolitan Opera in NYC will once again be selling weekday tickets for as low as $20 on performance days.

Here's how it works: The Agnes Varis and Karl Leichtman Rush Tickets Program will make 150 $20 orchestra seats available for Monday through Thursday performances during the season. Tickets will be sold at the Met box office two hours before curtain. The quintessential London theatre experience, at least for Bard fanatics, is an afternoon or evening at Shakespeare's Globe. In the open-air structure on the Thames' South Bank, visitors take in stripped-down stagings of the classics. There are no elaborate sets, no breathtakingly beautiful costumes, and the most hard-core—or spendthrift—theatregoers will find themselves standing for three hours or more just as their entertainment-hungry counterparts of yesteryear used to in the Yard.

Those who prefer comfort over historical fidelity can sit of course, on tufted cushions if they so choose. Based on our experience sitting in a slightly cheaper section with partially-blocked views, pinpointing a "bad seat in the house" proves challenging. So, good news for those looking to save a bit of cash on tickets. Spectacular as the long-running Lion King show may be, we can't help but cringe as we pass London's Lyceum or wander through a sea of glittery marquees in Leicester Square. Elbowing your way through a sea of showgoers en route to Covent Garden or the nearest tube stop is not a particularly fun activity. Theater is a major tourist draw in London, and understandably so; an amazing array of shows are on at any given time, especially if you take the time to seek out smaller playhouses.

It's easy enough to book tickets to Legally Blonde or go for the consummate London playgoer's experience, an evening at the Globe. We’ve been looking forward to the debut of Catch Me If You Can on Broadway, and it looks like JetBlue has been doing the same. The free snack airline has signed up to be the official and exclusive airline, which kind of makes sense, since their home base at JFK sits right behind the former TWA terminal.

The musical has already started in previews, but opening night is set for April 10.
