While the real kids of the NYC prep school scene are still enjoying their last few weeks of vacation in the Hamptons or Saint-Tropez, the cast of Gossip Girl is back filming on the Upper East Side and this season they will be joined by Hilary Duff.

The Duffster was on set yesterday, preparing for her role which according to Celebrity-Gossip.net is that of a movie star who enrolls in classes at NYU in hopes of getting a typical college experience. Hmm...can you say Olsen twins. Duff's character will also take an interest in Dan Humphrey.

Meanwhile, the real new class of NYU students will arrive in just a few weeks and the Student Resource Center is dedicated to helping them adjust to being on their own in the big city. We're not sure exactly why Entourage has returned to HBO for another season. They should have ended the series with the final episode of last season which had Vincent Chase dramatically pulling himself out of nasty career funk by scoring a movie role with Martin Scorcese. But no. Entourage is now back in our living rooms on Sunday nights throwing all the perks of movie stardom and beautiful people and VIP lifestyle into our faces. Ok, we could choose not to watch it but what fun would that be?

The episode finds the boys once again living the good life now that Vince's done shooting the movie and is starting the publicity rounds, including a Leno appearance. But this year, it seems not everything revolves Vince. We had our preppy picks ready to go. We had our punk picks ready to go. We were anticipating the return of Andrew McCarthy to the 80s. But sadly, Gossip Girl spin-off--which was to follow Lily van Der Woodsen around Los Angeles during her rebellious youth--is not happening.

As I reported at 2:45 PM today, put a fork in it. It's done. Next Monday's episode of Gossip Girl is a flashback that was supposed to be a tempting taste for next fall's spinoff following the wild teen years of now mom Lily van der Woodsen (played by Brittany Snow) in Los Angeles in the 1980s. But even though I heard Peter Roth loved its yesteryear vibe, the show went from hot, to lukewarm, to "fading but wouldn't count out", to now dead, according to my insiders. I'm really surprised.

On Friday, USA Network’s Burn Notice is filming on Jackson Avenue between McDonald Street and Gifford Lane in the Coconut Grove area of Miami, Florida. Burn Notice is a sexy series about a blacklisted spy, played by Jeffrey Donovan, struggling to put his life back together and find out why he's been burned.

While other shows like Dexter and CSI: Miami are set in Miami, they are actually shot in L.A. Burn Notice is currently the only series filmed completely in Miami.

Tomorrow’s location is just a few blocks from one of Miami's best restaurants, Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar and Latin Grill, 3067 Grand Ave, Coconut Grove. Jaguar is known for their ceveches, a popular Latin American dish made with marinated seafood and served raw. Their Ceviche Spoon Sampler features tuna, swordfish and white fish ceviches for around $15.

With so much travel news raining down on us, we don't always have time to give every story its own forecast. Now here are some of today's more celeb-centric travel stories in brief.

· The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Will "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" be able to fill the void left by Carmela Soprano? More importantly, will it make people hop on the ACES on NJ Transit trains to visit the state? We're not sure. But do expect a lot of "Jerziness" to come out like: mall-hopping, nasal accents, an inside look at the "construction" business, the start-up of a strip club, trips to the Jersey Shore and we can only hope, some Taylor Ham. This week's episode opened with Bret and Jemaine playing a gig at the Bar and Grill on the Lower East Side at Houston and Attorney Streets. Yes, there is a street called Attorney Street here. And the actual establishment is called The Parkside Lounge which is located at 317 East Houston Street.

You can go here to watch variety acts or listen to Bluegrass music or attend a potluck dinner night. (Visit the MySpace page for more details. Or you could go to watch Bret and Jemaine play to a crowd of zero.

But really why would you want to do that when you can go visit NewZealandtown which is on the block between Little Italy and Chinatown, so says Prime Minister Brian. Actually locating NewZealandtown is quite difficult to do on a map and indeed it only takes up the space in front of a nail salon. Oh, and it was only up for one day.

But if you're really jonesing for some Kiwi action in NYC then we suggest hitting up the Kiwi Club of New York for some suggestions. Or you can just show up to their next Pub Night at the Galway Hooker on E. 36t street on Wednesday, March 11 at 7pm. Don't forget your hair gel. It makes you cool.
