Super Bowl XL may fade gently into that good night, but Detroit will never disappear from our minds. And foremost in our Motor City mad minds is the following: how much did actual fans--not execs getting freebies--pay for tickets to yesterday's game?

From an unscientific poll of fans conducted by the Detroit Free Press, it looks like there was a two-tiered pricing system. Anyone lucky enough to win the season ticket lottery paid face value for tickets, which was $600. Everyone else, either through ticket brokers or ebay, paid about $2500.

Also available on ebay for $2500? A 1974 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, pictured above. We know which one we would rather have had, and it's not the one that involved Matt Hasselbeck. It's very hard to argue with a blue velour interior.

Detroit: We've Got Tonight

It's time for Jaunted's Friday Detroit coverage. Has the pre-game show started yet?

Deadspin wonders where all the negative Detroit coverage has been this week. Was there a PR conspiracy? We think that journalists were simply too sated from their football-shaped salamis to get cranky.

DetroitWonk reports that Jimmy Kimmel made good on leaving fans out in the cold earlier in the week, giving them tickets to a show the next day. Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick--sometimes described as the third most hated mayor in America--also presented Kimmel with the key to the city.

Meanwhile, there are whispers that Bob Seger will perform at one or both of the Kid Rock shows this weekend (before Kid Rock is helicoptered to the Sports Illustrated Party on Sunday). Let's hope there some Night Moves in the cards.

And in naked-lady-party news, you may have missed your chance to get tickets to the SI party on ebay, but tickets to the Penthouse party are still available, for $2,380. Perhaps the inflated price is some kind of classiness surcharge?

Detroit: Oi to the World

Coverage from Slate of British television reality series From Ladette to Lady, which airs on IFC this week. Rest assured that when Fox remakes the show, they'll call it When Girls Attack!

For travelers who have yet to encounter this beast, either in her native England or on holiday somewhere like Ibiza, they are the British equivalent of America's Girls Gone Wild. Think flashing, binge drinking and the like, only with an accent that Americans cannot help but perceive as sophisticated. The show follows their escapades as they are molded into proper young women.

It's something to keep in mind this weekend, during the extensive Super Bowl parties thrown not only by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models, but by Maxim, FHM, Penthouse, and Playboy as well. According to the Post, SI plans to fly Kid Rock by helicopter to the party after his concert on Sunday and Maxim will have a giant bar in the shape of a pinball machine. Pretty fancy stuff all around.

No matter what happens this weekend, remember ladies--act too much like a ladette and you could get shipped to finishing school by a reality TV scout in attendance.

Detroit: Pigskin Lovers?

The Super Bowl XL excitement is building today, as media coverage focuses on how annoying the media coverage of Jerome Bettis is. Very tautological.

Meanwhile, most A-List celebrities are not scheduled to arrive in town until tomorrow night, but when they do, Little Caesar's (which is based in Detroit) will be ready for them. They'll be unveiling the "Meat Trio" pizza for the big game. It's unclear which meats those will be, of yet. Perhaps there will be a promotional tie-in with the guy who is making football-shaped salamis?

Also, it's not only Jenna Jameson's party that's a hot ticket: a VIP pass to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit party has a $1,200 asking price on ebay. Those models won't be naked, either.

Friday February 3
Jenna Jameson's NFL Experience
A Vivid/ClubJenna Bowl Party will be held at the Zoo Bar in downtown Detoit. It will include a lingerie fashion show, some sort of open bar and signings + appearances from top adult stars. Tickets start at $500 and are still available.

There will be no nudity at the party. Jenna comments:

That's not what it's really about. I just accept myself and I think a lot of women out there kind of relate to me. Everybody is sexual; I just happen to be really honest about it.

Free booze and clothed porn stars--now that sounds like a dangerous combination.

Saturday February 4
Shady Bowl Super Party
Mr. 8 Mile himself will host the Shady Bowl Super Party at the State Theatre. A laundry list of hip hop stars are scheduled to perform and attend. Tickets start at $65.

The State is just around the corner from Ford Field.

Sunday February 5
Touchdown Club
For three hours prior to kickoff the Touchdown Club will offer regional food stations, full open bar, live entertainment, and an ESPN live pre-game radio brodcast on-site.

Touchdown Club will be held at Fox Theatre, just minutes from Ford Field. It will cost you $950 to get inside.

The hottest ticket in town? Leigh Steinberg's Super Bowl party--good luck scoring tix to that one. You could always try crashing.

Oh, and tickets to the game? Those are going for between $2225 and $143,000 according to StubHub.

Detroit: Wayne County Wonderful

It's an explosion of Detroit coverage today!

First, we'd like to point out the excellent photos of Detroit over at SNWEB.ORG on Flickr. Let's hope that the photos in the new and improved Jaunted photo pool--which is always looking for additional submissions--are as gorgeous.

Beyond that, it looks like we're not alone in posting top ten lists about Detroit's finer qualities; there's one in the works for the Late Show with David Letterman, to run later in the week. (via DetroitWonk, who is covering Super Bowl week intensively).

Letterman isn't the only late night host who has Detroit fever--Jimmy Kimmel is taping in Detroit all week. The Detroit Free Press reports he showed his love for the citizens by making fans stand outside in the cold for two hours before sending them home because the theatre was full. In Jimmy's favor, he does prefer to roll in a City Cab, which is a Detroit institution even when Kid Rock isn't driving him.
