So, while Foursquare was churning out all those shiny new international city badges, they were also thinking about good ol' America, and the fact that there are plenty of towns with awesome venues that would benefit from the exposure and tourism that comes with a special badge. A contest pitted individual Foursquare user-created lists against each other, and the winners were named today.

These winners, and therefore the next cities to have their own Foursquare badges, are: Baltimore, MD; Richmond, VA; Des Moines, IA; Oklahoma City, OK; and Stamford, CT.

Some pretty random choices in there, but they must pack a punch considering other cities in the running were Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Portland and Nashville. Personally we're all about a Detroit badge, but it seems we'll be waiting a little longer.

This week in Singapore, we earned the city-specific Foursquare "Lion City" badge just for SIN. The geek in us got excited and we immediately began wondering if our next trip's destination also has its own badge. Well, if it doesn't now then it will soon, as Foursquare continues to expand the variety. Just this week, both Madrid and Seattle join the club.

It began with Chicago (Windy City Badge), then London, Paris, Istanbul, Atlanta, New Orleans, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Berlin and Tokyo.

How to get the badges: First, follow 4sqCities, and just to be safe, it wouldn't hurt to also follow the individual city lists here: Madrid, Seattle. Then travel to one or all of the cities and clickety-click to check-in to the places on the recommended lists. Our first glimpse of the A380 at JFK, hiding behind the Aer Lingus jet

We type this from the bowels of the Oasis Lounge at New York-JFK Terminal 4, where the WiFi is achingly slow and our fingers jitter from a combo of excitement and the cold air leaking in.

Tonight marks the first scheduled departure of a Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 from JFK, and we'll be onboard...on flight SQ 25 all the way from New York to Frankfurt International, and on to Singapore-Changi International.

Brussels Airlines recently announced some major network upgrades and in-flight products and took to social media to brag about their new toys to all their followers. With dramatic unveilings on Twitter and instagram and the final product look on Facebook, the carrier created quite a buzz for their newest seats.

In the front of the plane, the Belgian carrier is launching lie-flat sky beds for intercontinental service with all of the bells and whistles we expect in business class. Super roomy seats with loads of work space is what premium passengers can expect with the addition of a pneumatic setting that allows passengers to pick a 'hard' or 'soft' seat.

We'll be the first to admit that it's a slow news day. Nay, month. This is why we were thrilled this morning at the creation of a hilarious Twitter game by Jon Ostrower (aka @flightblogger). Based on the popular "Shit [whoever] says" meme running rampant on the internet right now, Ostrower began the #ThingsAvGeeksSay hashtag, and the #avgeeks readily replied to match wits.

If you get 'em, you're golden. If you don't, then ask an #avgeek; there's probably one sitting next to you at the airport right now.
