One of the major perks to flying to Europe from the US is not just that you're on your way to Europe for heaven's sakes, but also that you'll likely be treated to some amazing sights outside your plane window. For example, on both our recent to and from flights for JFK-Milan on American Airlines, we enjoyed almost a full hour of looking straight down to the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss and Italian Alps. There's nothing quite like being reminded exactly how high in altitude those peaks are as when you're sharing airspace with them.

If you're heading to Switzerland for some skiing or northern Italy for any reason, be sure to choose your seat for the best views based on the POSH rule—port out, starboard home—and you too can catch the full panorama, kinda like this:

Warwick : Jon Hamm Hits the Slopes with Megan Fox in Upstate New York

Yesterday, Megan Fox and Jon Hamm hit the slopes together at the Mt. Peter Ski Resort in Warwick, New York. The pair wasn't there just for fun however; they were actually filming a scene for their upcoming movie Friends With Kids, which is being directed by Jon's girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt.

Jon and Megan didn't do much actual skiing, but they did appear to be having fun while starting a snowball fight for one scene. Megan looked like a pro on the snowboard too, even if she didn't go very far on it.

Most people think the Sundance Film Festival is all about the best in independent film, but its really just an excuse for celebs to party while wearing cute cold weather gear.

Now that the fest is in full swing, Main Street in Park City, Utah is crawling with celebrities. Just yesterday, Demi Moore, who's in town to promote her latest film, Another Happy Day), had a romantic lunch with hubby Ashton Kutcher. At the same time, Chris and Liam Hemsworth were getting snowboarding lessons down the street and Kate Bosworth was walking the red carpet for the 2011 Creative Coalition Spotlight Initiative Awards.

Heading to snow-packed towns looks like it's a lot of fun, however we've never been able to fully take advantage of these cold-weather trips because we don't know how to ski or snowboard without completing a run on our bums. Now we have an excuse to learn: January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

We may not know which of the remaining Big Brother houseguests will win tonight, but we do know where all of them will be come January. Anyone who has watched Big Brother After Dark or has seen even a few minutes of the Live Feeds, knows that two of the cast members, Hayden and Lane, are obsessed with “Steamboat.” Last week, Hayden even admitted it was his “favorite thing to talk about in the house.”

Both Lane and Hayden have been to the annual music festival before and love it so much they’ve spent much of their time in the house convincing their fellow houseguests to join them in Colorado this winter.

Fernie: Visit Fernie, Canada to Take a Spin in a 'Hot Tub Time Machine'

Hot Tub Time Machine is the story of four friends (John Cusack, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Rob Corddry) who take a relaxing dip in a ski resort hot tub and end up back in 1986. But don't feel bad for these guys, as this is exactly what they needed to get their lives back on track. It's also exactly what John Cusack needed to get dudes to see his movies again. Until now, most guys still see Cusack as that sissy Lloyd Dobler with the boom box over his head.

Many of those magical hot tub scenes were filmed at Fernie Alpine Resort in Fernie, British Columbia. Last spring, John Cusack and the rest of the crew spent several weeks in Fernie, turning the resort into a 1980s winter wonderland. The resort was brimming with 100s of extras sporting leg warmers, head bands and one-piece ski suits.

Mount Mansfield, the state’s highest peak at 4,395 feet, is where the big dogs hang out on the multiple wooded trails and “Front Four” black diamond descents. Expect to shell out some duckets for lift tickets (min $57 day per adult during early/late season; more during prime and peak times).
