With the premiere of Sex and the City 2 right around the corner, the Waldorf Astoria is jumping on the Carrie & Co. bandwagon with a special SATC package deal. The package includes a stay in the Waldorf’s Tower Suites with cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery waiting for you when you arrive, cosmopolitans at the Bull & Bear Restaurant, a 60-minute spa treatment, tickets for a Sex and the City tour and tickets to see the movie. Rates for this deal start at $300 a night between May 1st and August 30th, but movie tickets are only available while the movie is in theaters.

There are plenty of other NYC establishments getting in on the movie's buzz, even though most of the sequel takes place in Abu Dhabi. On May 29th, Velour, one of NYC's most up and coming bars, is hosting a special celebration of the movie's release with all proceeds going to Outright VT, which provides a safe haven for lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth. We're a little more than a month away from the return of Manolos and cosmos as Sex and the City 2 releases into theater in late May. And just like in the first movie, the girls—Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte—must get up and out of New York City for a little bikini and fruity cocktail time in someplace exotic.

In Sex and the City 1, they went south of the border to Mexico, but this year they're gone far more afield...to Abu Dhabi. Or that's what they'd have you believe. The film has the girls going on some all-expenses-paid junket to the Emirate for camel trekking, bazaar buying and even a run-in with old flames, but all of this isn't actually in Abu Dhabi. We spotted the crew filming the Abu Dhabi scenes last November in the medina of Marrakech, Morocco.

The title "Sex and the City" may become too limiting for the world's most fashionable set-jetting foursome. It seems "Sex and the City 2" has our favorite New Yorkers treading some very unfamiliar territory this week as Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon began shooting in Morocco. The women were spotted filming in the famous marketplaces of Marrakech, looking even more fabulous than the last time we saw them in New York City. Carrie was wearing a "J'Adore Dior" Tee and full lavender skirt while Miranda had on a flowy white dress with matching jacket.

Though Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall haven't been spotted in Africa yet, rumor has it they will be joining SJP and Cynthia Nixon on the Moroccan set soon. Sex and the City 2 continues filming around New York City and fans are literally following along, hoping to catch a few clues about the movie's plot. Last week, the ladies were spotted filming outside The Plaza in full '80s garb for a flashback scene, though its unclear how it will fit into the movie.

Kim Cattrall recently told People:

It was so much fun to relive the wild and crazy fashions of the '80s. I absolutely loved the four different looks of all of us. We were all so uniquely different that we all couldn't stop admiring our different looks. There was lots of laughing, and it was a blast!

Kim not only got her 80's on last week, she also let a few SATC2 secrets slip when she carried her script with her to the set in Manhattan. The pesky paparazzi were able to zoom in on the page which revealed Smith (the hunky model) might make an appearance in the "Sex" sequel even though he and Samantha parted ways at the end of the first film. In the scene, Samantha is at her desk when she's told "Smith Jerrod's on the phone." Its time to dig out those Manolos and start ordering cosmos again. One of the first locations for Sex and the City 2, which begins filming in NYC next week, has been leaked. The movie will be filming in the atrium on the 25th floor of Hogan and Hartson’s Law Offices at 875 Third Ave on Tuesday, September 2nd. Apparently, the space will be transformed into Mr. Big’s on-screen office.

If you can't wait for the next movie, On Location Tours is still running their Sex and the City Hotspots Tour which hits some of the locations used in the TV show. The tour, which costs $40, runs daily but you will want to make reservations in advance since it still sells out quickly. And for the guy's out there who don't think the tour is for them, think again.
