Two Women Try to Smuggle Dead Body onto Liverpool EasyJet Flight

We understand that sometimes passengers die on planes, and that's disturbing and gross and thankfully rare. We've also seen at least one occasion where the pilot died mid-flight, which when you think about the sheer volume of commercial aviation had to happen some time. But we're pretty sure that this story—where two women tried to wheel an already deceased family member onto an easyJet flight to Berlin—is a first. The officials at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport were similarly flummoxed:

Police were called when staff at the easyJet check-in desk became suspicious about the elderly man who was partially hidden behind sunglasses and did not appear to be moving very much... A spokeswoman for John Lennon Aiport, said: 'I have never heard of anything like this before. It is a bit of a strange one to be honest.'

Switzerland Not Neutral On The Issue Of 'Suicide Tourism'

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, Swiss hot chocolate and powdery ski slopes...these are a few of our favorite things. These are also a selection of heart-warming images that usually call to mind thoughts of traveling to Switzerland, and we'd never imagine having to add "assisted suicide" to the list. But alack and alas, it's true that Switzerland allows people to end their lives legally, so long as the decision is "not motivated by their own interests."
As a result of these liberal laws, Swiss towns that usually welcome tourists for things like good chocolate and yodeling have also become destinations for those who check in only to check out permanently. It's a depressing story—excuse us for dampening your Friday morning—but it's a large issue now in Switzerland and Britain as the Swiss seek to put further rules on who can get assisted suicide and CNN points out that many of suicide tourists are British, averaging two per month since 2002.

Mexico City: Deadly Meeting Between Mexican Politician's Plane And Busy Highway

A Learjet 45 crashed Tuesday night beside a busy highway in Mexico City. What’s worse, the 14 killed includes Mexico’s interior minister, Juan Camilo Mouriņo. In addition to a roadside tortilla vendor and other unlucky souls who died on the ground, officials estimate that an additional 40 people were injured.
Mouriņo was President Felipe Calderon’s right-hand man. Other passengers included anti-drug prosecutors, prompting questions of foul play. To squelch the conspiracy theories, officials have already released radar images and radio transmissions between the pilot and ground control.
Mouriņo had his critics, including some who burned giant plaster replicas of him in the streets. But the guy was just 37 years old. This settles it. We have a message for celebrities and politicians, particularly young, handsome dynamos who seem to be particularly at risk: Fly commercial.
Related Stories:
· No Sign of Foul Play Found in Mexico Plane Crash [LAT]
· DJ AM, Travis Barker Expected to Recover After Plane Crash [Jaunted]
