The Five Best Airports for Traveling with Pets

For many travelers, taking a trip without their furry friends isn’t an option, and airports have been noticing this. Whether it’s plastic fire hydrants or pet boutiques within the terminal, airports have started to accommodate our critters more than ever before. Some are a little better than others, so here are our picks for the five most pet friendly airports:
· Miami International Airport:
Miami International recently spent a cool $40,000 on upgrades to their doggie parks. For now the airport has two of them, but when the North Terminal is complete they plan to add a third one. The parks are pretty well sized and have benches for humans to take a break as well. Both areas are fenced in so that your dog can burn off some energy before that transcontinental flight. The parks are located outside between the parking garages and the Central and South Terminals.

Don't animal lovers need an expensive, idiosyncratic product to help them during those times too?
Yes they do says Chicago company PetEgo, self-described seller and designer of luxury, stylish Italian goods for your pet. And what they specifically need is the Pet Tube Car Kennel Crate, which is a tube that goes in your car and works like a crate.
Frontier Loves Your Pets, But Says No Way to Snakes on Their Planes

The Denver LCC just announced a new policy allowing owners to take on board any number of small animals, provided that they're in approved carriers that can fit under passenger seats. Dogs, cats, hamsters, and other small furry things will all be allowed for a $75 fee.
But the new policy is very clear that snakes, spiders, or other reptiles or amphibians are explicitly not allowed. Yes, Frontier doesn't want any of your mothereffin' snakes on their mothereffin' planes. We have to assume that the ban on snakes is either for the humor value, which is what we're hoping, or because focus groups freaked out about slithering things.
Where To Go with Fido: Searching for Pet-Friendly Getaways

Aside from flowers and cool rain and all that, it means that you will be returning to the parks and dog runs with your pets. And now with winter winding down, we bet you and your pooch have some serious cabin fever. To remedy this, the fantastic blog offManhattan has rounded up a few excellent pet-friendly getaways from New York City. But what about the rest of the country?
You can always head out on the Great American roadtrip with man's best friend, or pamper them with a flight of their own on Pet Airways so they can meet you at your destination, but when it comes to trip packages specifically catered to the pet-loving family, it takes a bit more research.
We recommend starting with HotelChatter's coverage of pet-friendly hotels, or inquiring at your local independent pet shop for the latest gossip on getaways with your four-legged friends.
We want to know: where do you go with your pets?
New York: Customs Officials Rescue A Freezing Furry Friend From Airplane Cargo Hold

Is Pet Airways A 'Frivolous' And Eco-Unfriendly Idea?

In response, Treehugger's readers surprisingly rose up in support of the idea and proved themselves to be not only eco-conscious, but pet-friendly as well.
To cover their bums in this matter, Treehugger has left the decision of whether Pet Airways is worthwhile use of a new airline or not up to a poll, currently being conducted here.
