The Internets went crazy last night when Paula Abdul tweeted that she was leaving "American Idol" after eight seasons of telling contestants that America loves them. Coming on the heels of an announcement that new judge Kara DioGuardi had re-signed for another season, the scuttlebutt holds that producers were trying to replace Abdul all along; according to the New York Post, the "Opposites Attract" singer had asked for up to a $15 million pay raise to stay on as a judge.

Our advice to Paula: It's time to get out of Los Angeles for a bit! It doesn't matter whether you jumped or were pushed. If you sign up for a new reality-TV project, you're only going to look desperate and hate yourself. The Super Bowl viewership numbers get higher and higher, but the performers they pick for halftime just get older and older. Apparently still freaked by the 2004 Janet Jackson Rhymes-With-Ripple Incident, the organizers of Super Bowl XLII, held in Arizona, might be ceding the stage to a crowd past their prime--the lovable crew from "American Idol," with Paula Abdul set to make her singing comeback. Yes, Paula "Opposites Attract" Freaking Abdul.

Even though "Idol" is the one mid-season television replacement sure to be a hit, do we want to see these jokers perform? They could just rewrite some Soulja Boy Tell 'Em lyrics and get those kids from "High School Musical" to do the dance. All the young'uns these days love that dance. Also, according to USA Today, Paula's new single is called "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow." Come on, the Bowl's less than a month away!

Doesn't Paula Abdul know the first rule of Southwest Airlines is to study the "A,B,C" boarding game? Obviously not, because the kooky American Idol judge caused a stir as she made her way from San Jose to Burbank with SWA.

Perhaps she has a phobia of middle seats. Paula, who likely got banished to the "C" boarding group due to a last-minute airport arrival, reportedly demanded to board early, because she's "famous." While she didn't get to pre-board, she did push her way to the front of the line once "A" boarding commenced, promptly stealing a prime seat in the front. She even tried to claim the seat next to her, but eventually had to give it up because the flight was sold out.

Thankfully her fellow passengers had the sense to taunt her for the poor manners. One such flyer reportedly shouted, "You're no Sanjaya!"
