Today, the second annual NKOTB Cruise departs Miami with hundreds of thirty-something women on board, all ready to hang tough with their favorite boy band— New Kids On The Block.
Donnie Wahlberg officially kicked off the festivities this morning by tweeting, "Love Love Love Love all of you! Cruise goers- let's get it on! Non cruisers- see ya in a few weeks! The summer starts NOW! and We are officially... ON THE BOAT! #godsaveus! Ha Ha Ha!!!"]]>
Last week on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys confirmed what was once only a dream for teen girls: they are going on tour together.
Both groups seem just as excited as fans to be touring together. Donnie Wahlberg told Seacrest, "The beauty of this show is they can expect Backstreet Boys to sing their hits. They can expect us to sing our hits [and then] the surprises. I can't wait. I can't wait."]]>
Those of you who plastered posters of New Kids on the Block's Joey, Jordan and Donnie on their walls—you know who you are—can hang tough with your favorite boy band on the NKOTB Cruise 2010.
That's right, you'll be stuck on a boat with the not-so-New Kids. Carnival is hosting an NKOTB cruise from the port of Miami to Half Moon Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas from May 12 to 16. Tickets just went on sale and will likely sell out.
This marks the third voyage for the New Kids, and this year they are going bigger, setting sail on the Carnival Destiny with 2,600 rabid 30-something fans. Last year, the NKTOB cruise sold out in just a couple of hours, so this year the group got a larger boat.]]>
The newly reunited New Kids on the Block are jumping on the celebrity cruise meme, planning their own sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale on May 15. The four-day trip will make a stop in the Bahamas, and apparently the booze will be flowing, Joey McIntyre tells People:
We're not going to be drinking piņa coladas, we'll be serving them.
Further details on the cruise are still sketchy, but the Kids have apparently been keeping up with the competition, mentioning how their trip will be superior to similar celeb sailings from John Mayer and John Legend. McIntyre goes so far as to report:
Our manager tells us this is not a cheesy thing.
