New York: Will New York Finally Get A Tour Of Its Famous Subway Performers?

In New York City, you can take a tour of everything from the city's luxury chocolate shops to Bob Dylan-relates sites, so why hasn't anyone thought of developing a tour of the city's best subway and street performers? Well, actually someone has: The Huffington Post, and they're looking for help locating your favorite roving mariachi band.
The HuffPost is looking for video submissions of the best acts from around NYC, whether above or below ground. After a few weeks, which will hopefully include our favorite performers—the man who wheels an entire piano down to the subway platform and the Xylophone-playing furries—HuffPost will highlight them on their site, hopefully with a guide as to their usual location. Bingo: instant, crowd-sourced subway music tour guide. Now if only it could be organized so that groups could visit them all during a day on the subway lines...but that's asking too much of such free spirits.
Submit your NYC street performer video here via YouTube, and be sure to add location data so we can find 'em!
Related Stories:
· New York Subway Performers Project: Help Capture and Map The City's Street Talent [HuffPost]
· Music Travel coverage [Jaunted]

London: Rock The Boat in London This Year, 'Pirate Radio'-Style

Today, "Pirate Radio", or "The Boat That Rocked" as it is known in the U.K., opens nationwide. The movie is based on the true story of a few rogue rock-and-roll deejays who broadcast from ships anchored just outside U.K. during a 1966 ban of rock music by the BBC. That same spirit is still alive in the U.K. today and here's how you can capture it.
Where to Stay:
Keeping with the anti-establishment theme of the film, The Pavilion Hotel in London certainly doesn't play by the rules. Every room in the hotel has an over-the-top theme and is decorated in loud colors and mismatched patterns. The bathrooms are small, the building is old, there is no elevator, this is not the Ritz, but what it lacks in amenities, it makes up for in character. The price is right too, rates start around £60 a night.

Britney Spears Is A Virgin Girl For Her Australia Tour

Boy oh boy, it's been awhile since Britney Spears did anything notable, let alone something travel-related, but last week she flew right back onto the scene and it was on a V Australia plane. BritBrit is currently playing to somewhat sold-out crowds around Australia on the Down Under portion of her "Circus" tour, and V Australia was chosen as the official airline partner of the tour.
What does that mean? Well, first it meant that Britney and all of her dancers, band, set designers, tech people and assorted crew headed to Oz on a V Australia plane on November 3. About that flight, Britney tweeted: "Longest flight ever but we had a great time. Really cool plane and the V staff took great care of us. So excited to be here!" She wrapped up the first concerts in Perth over the weekend, and now she'll be flying on Virgin Blue to upcoming dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.
